Screens

Screens showcases certain excellent contemporary media products as equally rigorous for articulating, assessing, and understanding our world as poetry, literature, and art traditionally used to be. Because TV shows, movies, and music often depend on mythical archetypes, they work not as substitutes for poetry, literature, or art, but rather as ways to see the relevance of these classical genres in today’s world. Screens is a forum for questions and discussions about the value of such media, including Internet social mediums themselves as thought objects, wherein we analyze and evaluate the implications and effects of all the various types of techno-screens that make up our posthuman environment and at once (re)define and confirm what it means to be human.
