The second course of the World Art & Culture series, this course explores the advent of monotheism and the developments of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Continuing to use an interdisciplinary approach, we uniquely examine the intersections between art, religion, and philosophy in the Middle Ages. The course includes a profound examination of the development of Christian Humanism and Neoplatonic thought in the Renaissance and the aesthetic theory that developed from these movements.
